Spearfishing

The Crozon Peninsula offers ideal conditions for spearfishing: shallow seabeds, waters that are still rich in fish, and a wide range of accessible spots. Camping L’Armorique is an excellent starting point: less than 10 minutes from many sites, and run by a manager who is himself an enthusiast, always happy to share advice. He’ll point you in the right direction depending on your level and the sea conditions on the day.

Pointe de Pen-Hir or Cap de la Chèvre for experienced spearfishers; Le Fret or Morgat harbour when the sea is rougher; Men Coz, Le De Pois, or Pointe de la Fraternité for rocky, fish-filled environments.

You may come across triggerfish, sea bass, grey mullet, pollack, bream, dogfish, brown crabs, lobsters or even John Dory…

Camping l’Armorique’s tip

Ask at reception: Guillaume, our manager, is a passionate spearfisher and knows the best spots. He’ll be able to advise you depending on the swell and the tide. Also remember to check the current regulations carefully: they change depending on the season and on the species.
